Baby Name Survey

Thanks, Madeline, for sending this on! It's a baby name survey by researchers at the University of Pennsylvania. It took me 5-10 minutes to complete. It asks you first how likely you'd be to use a whole bunch of names, then how likely you think they are to become trendy, and then how trendy you think they already are. Then it'll ask you your sex and age and household income and state and country and race, and how many children you have and what their names are.

Take the survey.

Aww, I was kind of expecting it to be one of those internet quizzes that popped out some cheesey advice when you're done based on your answers. If you do hear more on the survey results, please post them.

Dallas- Me, too: I was hoping for a SCORE. I wanted to be told if I was RIGHT or not!

Dang, I should have read the comments before I took the quiz. Good quiz, but I wanted a score too.

I hope all those male names are very unpopular. I did not like any of them!

Hey now! My baby's name was on that list. LOL

I did the survey! I don't have kids so I couldn't fill out much at the end. Also, I wasn't much of a fan of those names. LOL. Interesting mix! I hope "Jolie" doesn't become a fad, haha!

Devan - did we have different lists? I didn't see Dane or Owen on my quiz. Maybe the lists change?

ooohhh - my daughter's name, Annabelle, was on the list. I am very curious! WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?

Ohhhhh, THIS is interesting: when I read Devan's comment I thought the same as Stephanie G: I didn't remember seeing either of those names, but I thought Devan might mean for the THIRD baby, or that maybe I just forgot. But I KNOW I didn't see Annabelle, because that's one of my favorite names, and I got a variation I also like (Arabella). So it must be different lists!

They DO change! I just had to investigate and went back and viola! A new set of names then what I had earlier today. I agree, what does it all mean :)

This wasn't exactly geared toward my naming style. I marked most of them as "unlikely to use" and "likely to be a trend." The two answers probably go together, seeing as people like me are phobic of trends.

I did not have Dane or Owen on my list. I had names like Gideon and Ryken.

LOL @ your comment!

Yes, it sounds like "star." I like to say it sounds like the middle part of the word "faraway." Faraway, Lara way.

Dang my dad for choosing such a difficult-to-pronounce name. But I'm glad he won over my mom; she wanted to name me Jennifer (no offense to the 936485137 Jennifers born in the 70s like me!)!

I went back a bunch of times just to see how many name lists there were (I'm a dork). I only took the survey once! Academic integrity and all. The three lists were very different.
